Quite a drop between Station O and this Vanessa. Has a better view than O. Nice hill with plenty of deer. With Nozzer.

Came across this Vanessa just off W side of summit in good condition with an asphalt plug. Presumably part of the Great Glen Project ?

vgc, cylindrical pillar, asphalt plug, spider with a + and 2 triangular marks, in common with the other GG Project pillars. Nice rocky summit,. fine view. Easish crossing at 380059: Culachy Falls worth a look.

GPSr NH 38925 06154 ±6m. Cylindrical Vanessa style pillar showing slight weather damage. Spider center filled with coarse granular plug. All horizontal sight holes open, pillar bolt viewable. FB faces north ~5°. Nearest safe parking on verge, north side of B862 at NH406089. Track at NH 402090 is temporarily occupied as part of a construction site for nearby dam project - divert round or trespass through on foot. These hills are very rough terrain but the panoramic views are well worth the effort. Photographed 22/08/2007, GRP.
