Second of five today doing a clockwise round of H, E, F, P, G. A hop, trip and bounce across the clear felling landed us at the trig. Good views. With Nozzer

Circuit of trigs (G, P, F, E, H). From F to E via N57° 09.580' W4° 43.539' and N57° 09.532' W4° 43.769'. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! Extensive forestry work in the area, got trapped amongst the fallen and felled trees and fell off some when trying to tight rope walk along two which snapped, came out completely battered and bruised. I think there may be a firebreak from N57° 09.470' W4° 43.400' which will follow the contour line along to the trig, alternatively, make your way to N57° 09.161' W4° 43.776' avoiding the felled area and take a large tractor track which leads up to the trigpoint which is the route we took out. This one was a totally f***ing nightmare.

Not easy to find! From isolated firebreak immediately to north, the pillar is hiding behind a large banded rock outcrop. It's under a tree, so GPS fix may not be accurate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DDLJtXJl_o

vgc, standard Hotine pillar, asphalt plug, spider with a + and 2 triangular marks (I think), in common with the other GG Project pillars. E edge of small clearing S side of narrow ride. A rough bearing from ride to S thru dense sitka luckily took me straight to it - ironic as an hour searching for 11872 (estimated loc NH35450953 - see bench-marks.org) had produced nothing.

GPSr NH 34833 10630 ±6m. Standard Hotine pillar in good condition. Spider centre plugged with usual coarse granular substance. Three horizontal sight holes open (LHS plugged) pillar bolt viewable. Flush Bracket faces SW ~222°. This pillar took quite a bit of finding. Located in woods at the edge of a narrow fire break, luckily the FB faces outwards. Pleasant location, but view lost to conifers. Photographed 23/08/2007, GRP.

11873 - Great Glen Project Station E pillar & FB.
the first glimpse look carefully in these trees
after some branch clearance note not a summit
Spider markings cross & 2 triangles : on all GGP stations.
