Like Peregrinus saw the symbol on the OS map and went in search of the trig. Bolt found in bedrock to the west of a cairn. Dont use GPS so unable to log exact position. Very windy on the top and got caught in a heavy hail shower...summer eh!

Trig symbol on Explorer map so I went to investigate. Bolt cemented into rock, 13m W of summit cairn. OS online trig archive also lists an <OLD TRIG> at NG00379.89172, i.e. approx 20m SE, presumably near the summit cairn although I saw no trace: I was looking for a Bolt which I eventually found; saw nothing nearer to the cairn. I notice the GR recorded by my GPSr was nearer to the Old Trig than to the Bolt GR, but no trace of a pillar base. I had no co-ords with me at the time, just a trig symbol on the map.
