Intrigued by peregrinus's log, reporting "a hydrographic trig plate 190m further N on flat rock at summit E side of path", I revisited Crow Point to find it. It's an easy find using pereginus's description. The 'summit' is adjacent to Oliver's Battery, shown on both the OS 1:25 000 map and the Friendly Guides 1:15 000 map. It made me wonder how many other Admiralty hydrographic triangulation stations there are around Scilly, waiting to be found. After finding the hydrographic trig, I felt duty bound to revisit the OS trig - which was still there and still in good condition.

A surprise to find this while looking for a stage of the oldest multi stage geocache in the UK. I've been visiting for 40 years and had never stood on this spot.

Large, 2 3/8" dia bolt located on flat rock near summit of small rocky outcrop close to Carn Near, the low water quay for Tresco. Easy find with OS photo, bagged it with 5 mins to spare before boat departed.

Logged whilst on a stay on Tresco. We had just been to the Abbey Gardens. It's on a rocky outcrop above the landing stage.

Delightful. Secondary station SV91/8, computed 1947, now a Passive station. Bolt seems the right descriptor.

Visited on a walk round the southern half of Tresco. The trig point is a surface block (not a bolt) - a hemisphere of brass, about 50 mm in diameter, slightly flattened on top with a centre punch mark. The block is set into large rock, forming part of a granite tor. The tor is on your right as you walk down to the Carn Near jetty (Tresco's low water landing point for inter-island boats). The surface block is located on the smaller, inland, granite outcrop (one of two). There is a small bolt set into an adjacent rock, the purpose of which is not obvious - it's not useful as a survey point, but might perhaps have been used for benching in the surface block. In good condition.
