Parked at the farm, spoke with farm manager who was happy for me to walk up there, good track all the way. GR indicating it was up on the hedgerow bank. Scrambled up there through thorn and nettles. Had a stomp around but no post there, and nothing found that might be remains of. Not entirely sure what sort of 'post' this was, presume a wooden one, but referal to the OS archive necesary to know for sure. Good views N over Newton Ferrers. ***4 Sep 2022 update. Referring to the OS Sketch the post was up on the corner of the bank and would have been around the centre of my first photo.

Probably gone - no sign of it on the hillside when viewed from every possible vantage point. No obvious dry access in todays soaking wet waist high vegetation

Studied hillside from NW thru binoculars, from top end of Newton Ferrers village: no sign of it, just a line of electricity poles. No GPS this weekend so didn't visit location to see if any remains survive.
