Cairn/structure visible from NW, coast road at West Kilbride, clearly seen thru binoculars. Visited island highpoint 45m, to N) 15/07/2012 so doubtless had a closer view, but unaware of trig status at the time

Trip out from Castlebay on the Boy James visiting 14 islands in and around the Sound of Barra. Landed at the northern end of the island, approx 600m walk to the trig, which is actually the last remaining section of the tower of a medieval tower house, once a stronghold of the MacNeils and later home to the notorious pirate wrecker Breabadair Stache, from where it got it's alternate name of Weaver's Castle (corruption of reiver's)
