Couldn't find it 24th Dec 2022  16:30  by peregrinus

Arrived at dusk, no access issues (Xmas eve), well used paths mostly on OpenStreetMap led to location, almost dark when I got there. GR is circular area, concrete mostly grassed over, no sign of spider or a manhole (see previous log comments). However, 100m to W is a small brick building with what looks like a trig pillar on the roof. 3m high and no ladder with me. This would seem obvious place for a spider, but doesn't match GR nor description. Worth checking out though if anyone has a ladder....

Military firing range, red flag flying today and watchman on site. OS BM database shows various GPS bolts within 50m, relating mostly to buildings; Bing aerial shows just a single small building W of location. OS trig database has 1969 computed date, destroyed but no date, 'locating coords only'. BM database has position 15m to NE, says 'cut mark' (sic), 'spyder on manhole', 'not for sale to public' (!). Googling found April dates only, plus a phone number so it should be possible to identify a date for a closer look. Car park 2km to W
