Initially spotted from the Brough of Birsay so we drove to Cumlaquoy for a walk and closer look. For some reason I thought of Cpl Jones (Dad's Army) who refers to Kitchener when reminiscing his time in the Sudan.

Being renovted in places for the 100th anneversay of the sinking of HMS Hampshire with Kitchener on board and for the royal visit of HRH Price Phillip and Prince Charles in June.

The Kitchener Tower The square plaque on the towere is the name of the company doing the refurbishment for the 100th anniversary of the loss of HMS HAMPSHIRE with Lord Kitchener onboard.

Castellated tower. Currently under renovation with no access. Saw puffins on the Marwick cliffs. Expansive views.
