Revisit on a sunny warm late winter day steep ascent from Rosthwaite soaking my baselayer through and had to take it off at the summit cairn.Large OS bolt in good shape considering where it is.Walked on the Combe Head horseshoe climbing the remaining Birkett/Nuttall tops i had missed before.A great day out and ten years almost to the day since me and my friend started doing all the Wainwright tops many times the strange thing about it was on that very first day all those years ago the weather conditions were almost exactly the same no wind and sunny all day!

Bolt measured at 2 1/8" diameter. Easy spot exposed on rock, paced out at 2m NNE of summit cairn. It is a bit battered, but is stable and would be perfectly functional. On a round of Wainwright and Nuttall bagging.

I don't normally give bolts a very high score but this one is in a great place. Found on trhe last peak for me having walked the Seathwaite/Glaramara horseshoe. I walked back to the tarn and down from there but its a steep and not a nice way to decend in my opinion.

Revisit on walk to bag previously bypassed Hewitt/Birkett summit of Stonethwaite Fell(Dovenest Crag). Climbed to summit of Rosthwaite Fell(Bessyboot) as the last one of the day, went for a scout around not expecting to find the bolt & there it was in plain view on a rock about 4 feet NNE of the summit cairn, which was a nice bonus!

A bit late logging this one (six years), was doing the Wainwright's back in 2008, must admit I did not actually look at the bolt but luckily captured it in this summit shot, Walking the ridge from Alan Crags too this little beauty is in my humble opinion one of the best walks in the district,
