Third and last in our concrete ring hunting day. Parked at SD866937 on the road down from Buttertubs. Used the bridleway; after a short climb up from the road it's an easy level walk (mostly coinciding with a quadbike track) along the limestone terrace past potholes and sinkholes. Concrete ring easy to find in a depression by the northermost of the pair of little cairns. Stones to remove, but it's not as deep as the previous one we visited (Jingle Pot) and dry so no bailing needed. Lovely views across upper Wenleydale, and an impressive winter sunset on the way home.

All of a sudden, this trig is very popular! Clear track up from Sedbusk but low cloud and a moderate breeze on the top so limited views. Compass used to locate the cairns. Turf covering and rocks temporarily removed; hole dry, no bailing necessary. Ring in good condition with clear lettering. Large bolt in rock. Congrats to Team CJO once more.

3ft N of centre of north western cairn, obvious large circular turf (CJO somehow managed to cut the right size and shape, amazing), carefully removed along with flat stones underneath to reveal clean dry CR, About 18 inches down , great find! From SE, parking by phone box at start of lane. Walk passes 3 old BM sites, all blanks. Gorgeous spot on a sunny morning

Nice walk up from Sedbusk village on good paths, followed the edge of the limestone escarpment to the summit cairn. Quickly found the massive circular sod covering the replaced stones, these were quickly removed to reveal the ring in excellent condition and the brass bolt fixed to the bedrock. Impressive views to the surrounding hills from the summit here sunny but a chilly north wind. Another super find by cjo and his assistant.

Slight depression 6m or so north of old cairn. Ring found 12” down. 2.5” bolt 18” down in bedrock. Encouraged to dig on by finding pieces of glass bottle. Glorious days with excellent views to adjacent trig points.

Glass
Bolt in bedrock with concrete ring
Refilled hole with large rocks (for Painterman)
Recovered with furf and built a cairn adjacent to south - old cairn 6m further to south

Parked in Sedbusk and followed PROW (Shutt Lane) then followed path left to top of crags.I only found one small cairn in the right area so had a good look round and lifted and replaced all the stones but saw no bolt.Gets a 3 for the pleasant approach and good views
