Metal rod marker in block under an inch of mossy turf next to pointy marker stone, (OS say 4m WNW of cairn, not checked) quickly found in fading light then down at dusk, thanks to previous loggers. Good parking 1km to N

GPS lead me a merry dance finding this one, in the end gave up with it and studied BigJ’s photos below, particularly the bottom one of the three and by lining up the stones in the cairn found the block almost immediately. Not before my trusty trowel had been blunted and buckled stabbing hopelessly at the many rocks buried in the spot my GPS suggested the block was. Fantastic 360 degree views from here, easy walk up from the N, parked opposite the JMT property of Glen Lude. Left a pointy rock upturned by block to save next visitor wasting the best of the day; apologies if you enjoy the challenge of finding these things the hard way…

Wasn't aware of it at time of visit so didn't look for it... but quite likely stood on it though! ***Revisited 19 Nov 2022. Quick up and down at dusk from wide forest road entrance 1km due north. Previous loggers' pointy stone quickly spotted. Block, with rod marker, found under an inch of turf adjacent to stone. Flap of turf replaced after photographing. Had the OS sketch, but didn't use it, and forgot to check their measurement.

Dry day, blowing a hoolie and misty on top. Sheltered in the lee of the large cairn to consult the GPS. Grass and stone top, so no heather. After about 30mins of stabbing, located the slab and then the bolt. 1/4" rod type. Position is approx 3.5m north of the cairn. With CJ.

Spent a good 40mins digging up buried stones to no avail; it might be under the giant cairn. Easy ascent from North.
