Visited whilst on BM hunt in the area on day off, arrived Castleford via 06.18 Skipton to Leeds 07.32 Leeds to Sheffield trains. Block easily found thanks to eon's photo. Photo of site taken from field side, with footpath sign to align to. (Great find Ted)

(2298) Parked at the cemetery on Cutsyke Road and then a short walk to the location. Farmer in tractor flailing hedges as I arrived, so everything knocked back and tidy. Block soon found - some ivy removal required, though. A good first find by Ted.

Obtained the OS sketch from the National Archive for this one, but the block still took a long while to find. The sketch gave a measurement of 9.68 metres from a gatepost which no longer exists, measures to hedge gaps which have long since grown back, and a measure to a p/n in living rock across the road - found the rock but not the nail. It also didn't help that the gap in the kerbstones indicated that the field entrance has been realigned whilst the large manure heap against the hedge also presented a challenge. Two large, flat-topped rocks gave false positives whilst probing the vegetation but 3rd time lucky. A 1/2" dia bolt was located in the hedge line at the top of the bank. From the field entrance, counted kerbstones (including three curved ones) and the far end of the 13th stone aligned with the block. Easy to access from the roadside once you know where to look.

Should be E verge at N side of field access at end of hedge. Fairly small area to search but screwdriver failed to make contact.
