Parking for one car at the bottom of the lane The surface block exposed and easily found brass bolt . Good location first find ever on top of a railway embankment (Great find eon)

2 inch bolt although looks smaller, partly buried in the concrete, S of fence on dis railway embankment, still exposed, easy find. Nice find eon!

Surface block easily located, thanks to eon. Block exposed with 1" bolt, approx 7ft in from the fence and about 26 fence posts (metal and concrete) from the bridge. Top of embankment of the former railway line to Welbeck Colliery.

(2975) Parked at Barn Owl Close and walked down. Some point between CJO and me visiting, the rail track has been dismantled. Embankment location easily reached. Ill prepared though as I had no probing tools with me. Had to make do with a part of a branch! Ground very soft but block went unfound. Consolation BM on the rail bridge. Revisit : 16.2.24 Back in the area so stopped by again. This time properly equipped. Soon found, concrete block with small bolt, sitting just below the surface. Really great to end the day on a first find.

On top of railway embankment. Extensive probing found nothing. Old fence. GR implies railway side of fence. Odd. This is probably still there.
