Only 8cm left now, sheltered under a peat hag 4m ESE of summit cairn. For a 'Temporary mark' it's lasted well. Intriguing that it was retained in the 'permanent' OS trig database. No-one deleted it, I guess...

There's definitely less of it left now than there was when Jon visited 3 years ago.

Well, all I can say about that piece of wood driven into the peat and now exposed on one side, is... not a lot really. But is it really an OS trig - a piece of wood? Not their usual style for a permanent survey marker.

my last sub Hewitt in England and Wales. A long time coming and a very long trek in. I'd forgotten how unpleasant Dartmoor tussock can be.
