Location from E Grey building at grid ref. Possible lamp behind, further W, all too new

(1583) Parked near to the entrance, and viewed the site from there. Also had a quick look from the public footpath that runs parallel to the site. Circular water tank visible, but who knows if this and the lamp is the one used by the OS.

There is a water filtration plant on site, with a gantry walkway for the pumping equipment which does have a lamppost - whether its the original lamp or no, who knows, but it is in a sensible "centre" location on a structure that is visible from all the adjacent ridge lines. Looking at Teds arial photo shows the round water tank but Teds arrow shows the suspected GR as being on adjacent building

The grid ref points to a modern roof whereas the OS trig marks database records that the item was computed in 1953. Couldn't see anything resembling a lamp. Site now a part of Tata Steel but a rooftop fox commemorates the founder. The flagstaff on Stocksbridge clock tower (SK39/INT036) is an intersected point not far away.
