The grass at the spot had all been trampled down and even after 10 minutes with the metal detector app on the phone I could not find any thing.

Spent a fruitless hour staring into bushes looking for a Long-eared Owl, then came to a good viewpoint overlooking the Dee Marshes. No prodder with me to check next to the wall

SD30 T394 BOLT. Roughly 6m NE of ancient gateway in the newly rebuilt wall. Spoke to RSPB reserve warden who said the wall was replaced/repaired 5 or so yrs ago. They saw nothing of interest at the time. Reserve closed on Tuesdays. Colin is the manager. Parking available at SJ305741, with cut BM on reserve HQ.
