Easy walk up on paths clear remains of the old tower base. The Hall is now fully covered in scaffolding and having a massive 35 million refurbishment needless to say the benchmark was inaccessible. Band playing and large xmas tree in the servants buildings many folks out walking today.

Bolt destroyed 12/60 and flagstaff destroyed 01/71 (OS). Remains of a flagstaff base in woodland, but nothing left of the tower. A painting of the Hall with tower is on a nearby information board. Cut BM on N angle of the Hall. Busy park on a sunny day.

Remains of a flag staff exist in the ground at the GR - remains? Some stonework also remains on the ground which could be the base of the tower.
