Third visit prompted by realisation that I’d previously missed bagging the Intersected Station at the mast, or at least the remains thereof. Walked up from the road this time, barrier being padlocked ~~ 05/06/21 My second visit - the weather as bright today as it was gloomy two years ago. A lot of view for virtually no effort whatsoever!

I was walking from Dead Friars to the boundary stone by the junction with the B6278 when I decided to climb to the top of Horseshoe hill to visit the trig point. Weather was cold, wet and misty - typical August Bank Holiday!!

Day 8 of 14: A Pennine Way East Walk. A day to forever remember. From wild camp at Slaley Forest via Blanchland Moor, Baybridge and Dead Friar's Bank. Access is easy, big views with Cross Fell range just about poking up. From here, probably the best meal of the holiday at Waskerley Cafe then down into Weardale and camping amongst the good people of Weardale.

Cheated as had a small child with us, parked at the mast and walked over which took no time at all. The road up is horrendous mind so be warned if you value your car. Disc appeared to be filled with concrete and strange rubber pellets were in the corner holes. Brilliant views of Derwent reservoir.

Took the lazy option and drove to the radio mast. Views spoiled by leaden skies and low cloud covering higher hills. Added to the list of TPs "to revisit on a better day" - fortunately this will require very little effort!

Passing by on my way to Stanhope, I drove up the track to the radio mast to save time. It was a cold wind and there was a thin covering of snow on the ground. The sun was out however and there were wonderful views especially to the snow-covered tops above Weardale.

Plug replaced by resin cover; one sighting hole open. Lichen growing on upper surfaces of pillar. Flat top; apart from the name, a slightly dull hill.

A bitterly cold winters afternoon with snow on the fells. I love the Durham Fells in the winter - they are just so beautiful. An easy walk up through the snowdrifts on the track that goes to to the mobile phone masts.

vgc, old brown resin plug. Dampish heather moorland. Last of the weekend: a nice easy finish. I thought I'd now finished all trigs from here N to the Scottish border, only to discover that Clochandighter had refound S6654, also on LR87, a week ago !
