Visited this tower a few times and was determined to achieve a view of the disc. The door to the tower is always securely padlocked and the tower itself is festooned with mobile phone antennae. I had to resort to aerial technology. After numerous flightpath and interference checks, I took the plunge. Because of the flag pole I couldn't get too close. Large rivet installed on top of asphalt disc.

Didn't realise this was a trig until I was logging another one, must be stuck on the tower somewhere?

Been here before for a geocache but didn't take any pictures, that was in Summer and the bracken was very high. Much easier today but parking is now an issue as it's clear the owners of eyebrow cottage (Toll House) don't want anyone parking here as they have put large logs against the side of the road to prevent you. York Tower is a 3-storey octagonal folly erected in 1827 to commemorate Prince Frederick, the Duke of York; and the Forteath Mausoleum – built in 1850 as the burial place of 7 members of the Forteath family of the nearby house of Newton. More fancifully, York Tower is said to have been erected on the site where Macbeth met the three witches

Visible from the road but trying to walk up from NJ16666300, was defeated by the bracken. One for the winter.

A steep climb up the hill to the tower. Especially tricky during the Summer months when the bracken can be chest high! Surrounding trees at the top limit the view but an interesting structure nonetheless. NJ 16322 62935
