Scaled internal wall corner towards an opening giving access to the 'porch' roof, but decided discretion the better part of valour and descended before falling! ***Revisited 23 Aug 2018 with an extendable ladder and gained roof access. No sign of the rivet on either the lower or upper roof sections, or the parapet. Lower roof is in a poor condition; upper roof possibly been re-roofed in past 20-30 years. NB. OS Sketch now available, showing rivet 1.5m from W angle, on upper roof, plus 4 witness rivets on the parapets, none of which were seen at time of visit.

Walked round tower, gps pointing at building the whole time. Could maybe have got up but not down again. Straight up from Noss ferry.

A great location but unable to climb tower so inaccessible or missing.

Rivet not found, looked round outside as well in case but could see nothing. Beautiful views though.

Rivet is most likely on roof of Ander Hill Tower. I parked just off the road about 650m SSW of the tower (at HU 5222 4090) and lugged my 2.6m telescopic ladder up the 84m ascent to the top of the hill only to find it would not reach the lower roof from where it may have been possible to access the higher level roof to see the rivet. I had a look round outside as well just in case but could see nothing obviously OS. It's at times like this I wish I had a toy helicopter with a camera on it! Great view of Noss and Aith Ness from here though.
