Work has been carried out over the past few months to replace some kerbstones in the central reservation. Revisited the trig to see if it has survived. Its still there. Steady rain.

First of the day freezing cold wind but all quiet traffic wise, was tricky to find as a layer of sticky soil was stuck to the kerbstone. Previous logger the rivet is very shallow in structure, on the kerbstone there is a light circular patch of fungus nearby the rivet on the kerb edge which gives a clue to the location.

The verge was over grown with grass, despite removing the grass from the verge using the pictures posted as a guide I still couldnt find it and I was getting funny looks so i left it.

(1024) Time for one more before heading back into the centre of Leeds. Parked up down Lawnswood Gardens and then it was a short walk back to the crossing point on Otley Road. Took a little finding - a fair bit of detritus had built up at the location. Had to double check previous comments as well to narrow this one down. All good - rivet still present.

Very busy today but as i drove by slowley in the traffic i could see the rivet on the curb stone thanks to the photos posted on here.

Found on second visit after help from Ted. Thanks. in fact you can see the large section of turf we removed from the kerb stones in one of Teds photos.

Previously visited a few weeks back but the site was covered in snow and I soon gave up. Subsequently obtained the OS station sketch and description from the National Archives and this was a great help. Rivet in kerbstone. Located between N and S carriageways of Otley Road; N side of crossing opposite Lawnswood Gardens; SE corner of kerb.

SE44 T213 RIVET. GPS places the position in the central verge of the dual carriageway. Had a look on the kerbstones, cleared some overgrowing grass. Favoured GPS position was on the blacktop allowing traffic leaving Lawnswood gardens to access either north or south bound carriageways.

Lawnswood Gardens favoured position behind 40mph sign on road connecting north and south carriageways.
