This may still be there, but the tarmac and concrete at the bridge edge/road verge would mean quite a lot of clearing back to find this. Did not read edfieldens comments before visit....worth investigating?

Moredon Bridge

GPS location indicates this block should be at the side of the old road beside the eastern parapet of the bridge over the Swindon-Kemble railway line. Long undergrowth and dry ground prevented me from identifying the exact location. Post-visit study of photos taken at the scene shows something I hadn't noticed while I was there: a white painted marking with a downwards-pointing arrow on the eastern bridge parapet in the right sort of location which possibly reads "P.T.S" - something Triangulation Station perhaps? Another visit is required when the roadside undergrowth has died back!

wish we had more time in this area as we actually believe that with gps co-ords never being spot on it may be on the roadside of the old bridge.

Could not find anything on northern approach.(Down by the track would be too low for any worthwhile sight lines.)

An active trig according to OS database. Its GR indicates a railway trackside location, close to the original Moredon Bridge, not the modern one shown in previous loggers photo. Trig is effectively inaccessible without a dangerous trespass. New bridge takes Swindon Orbital road (B4534) over railway line, old bridge runs parallel and mainly now a cycle track.
