Comparing Old Maps (which shows the building with the trig) and Google Maps, CJO has correctly identified the building with the trig, as in my photo.

If like me you want a memento of your visit and decide to take a photo of the facility entrance sign, security guards are very active! On approach to the security area just pass the church TP12498 there is a yellow curbstone on the left that marks the end of the public area. Although there are no signs marking the start of the private area and no signs prohibiting photography don't venture beyond the yellow curbstone! It would be wise to advise security of your intention to take a photo from the public area (this is not illegal) if you wish to avoid any harassment! Even after I'd spoken to security I still found myself having to engage with an individual who had just driven out of the site and stopped to tell me I couldn't take photos. I had educate this individual!

SU31 T441 RIVET. No chance of gaining access to this. A reasonable view of facility from the water.

Marine Terminal as best as i could judge the rivet was on the building with the zinc clad roof. Roof possibly updated since installation of rivet
Marine Terminal The other point of closest access - view from Calshot Castle. Large oil tanker discharging cargo today. Port of Southampton tugs lined up in front.
