I had to wipe a handful of rabbit currants off the block. The rivet blended in and reminded me of "Where's Wally". A tad delayed cycling over to a BCQ control at Holme Moss by "twitchers" out on the roadside....the bearded vultures moved over to Torside. Apparently it is a she. The couple of elderley "twitchers" who had driven up from Somerset for the day are gifted the rivet. One of many groups from down south, who have been visiting to see the bird.

I had visited here for the old YOSM virtual geocache before Groundspeak sadly archived it, which I had obtained after munching some of my mum’s delicious vegetable rice in the nearby lay-by! Most of the trig had gone save a bit of rock and trig plate.

Small rivet on a large rock slab in an old quarry. Three witness marks remain - two of which have lost their rivets - one a cross cut mark on the bed rock near the road; one a CBM minus rivet on opposite end of main slab; one a rivet, with a very warn cut mark below on rock at the back of the quarry.

9m from edge of road, rivet-style bolt in concrete slab - not sure this is a block. Should have read the logs here before, not after, my visit as would have searched for the witness marks.

Parking a few meters up the road as stone blocks prevent driving to area, Rivet located in left hand section of rock.all appears to be in good condition.

Rivet in exposed section of large rock slab, not a concrete block I think although didn't have tools to verify. Both cut marks rather worn. Rounded rivet (w/m) to east is not on main outcrops at back but a smaller outcrop in front.

Took a big of scrating round to find the stud as it was covered with mud (I left it in the same way for others entertainment). Parked approx 200m uphill from block & walked down. 4th of 5 trigs today. The remains of the aforementioned extravagant mourning make the place look a mess.

Recently I started to log YOSM geocaches, and was surprised to find I drive past this one every time I visit family in Yorkshire. Thus, on the wayhome from this weekends visit I stopped as it was getting dark, in the rain, and found the Surface block and all the WMs

This was interesting, as far as surface blocks go. Next to the road, just on the Derbyshire side of the county boundary; located after identifying the Witness Marks. Left it covered up again. Cloud shadows drifting over the fells.
