Opposite church in village, south along undulating residential road until Vivien Close. Up to garage compound, pillar on a grassy area turned into an outdoor seating area with children’s toys lying around. Helpful bucket to step up onto raised ground. Plaque of adoption by Kingston Council. Raised S prefix. Views of houses only. Quiet time of day, nobody about. Easy find and accessible.

Took some finding even with the helpful comments of others. Quite bizarre to see this trig point in a little plot of land all to itself in the middle of a housing estate. Like Andy G (2005) I'd have put the number as S5336 or S5356. Used my bike which was good for going back and forth along the connecting path to reach Vivien Close.

In someone's back garden - the surrounding houses must be post 1981 as they are not on my 1:50k map (time for a new one perhaps?). Would have had good views south to the North Downs. Too many people around to hop over the fences, but looks in good condition.

Rather a weird one this. The council have adopted the pillar - to their credit, but it is not readily accessible to the public. I would guess the trig is in the back garden of no. 65 Reynolds Avenue or near to it. Our GPS led us to the parking area of Vivian Close where I took the liberty of climbing on the wall, over the 2 fences and into the small area of long grass where the pillar sits. What a nerve !

This is in somebody's back garden though they appear to have disowned it by building a fence to partition it from the house. I think I've got the FB# right - I needed full zoom from a bad angle so apologies if it's wrong (it surely can't be ANOTHER S3358 !!). Update 12/02/05: Popped in on way past for another look and the FB is S3336 :-)

In a back garden extension which according to my 1976 50K map was open hilltop.Because of the condition of the FB and the lighting even with a telephoto lens I thought the FB number was either S5336 or S5356.There would have been good views to the south but these were lost when new houses were built on the south side of the hill about 20 years ago according to a local resident.
