Logged whilst walking the Coldale Horseshoe with my son and his dog, Penny. A tough, ten mile hike with eight peaks, five being Wainwright's and two of them with trig points. Also a rewarding walk that included some ridge walking, scrambling and amazing views. That said, the cloud cover was reasonably low and so on the highest peaks, including this one, the views were restricted.

Parking in Braithwaite then along the top ridge, over Kinn, Sleet How and onto Grisedale Pike, plan was to continue along to Crag Hill! The weather had other ideas! so opted for the drop back into the valley and back along the mine track. Great views along the ridge, none at the summit due to low cloud, freezing wind and horizontal rain :) Surface Block easily located (even in these conditions)

Walked up from Braithwaite along the old mining road. I wasn't expecting to find this at all so it was a wonderful piece of serendipity. It's a bolt set into a surface block. When we got to the top, a guy suddenly appeared on a mountain bike from the Hobcarton End direction. And promptly went back down that way. Fantastic views in all directions. We could even see Scotland!
