Good directions from previous loggers - many tks. 1 1/2" dia bolt in concrete block. Only thing I would add is that it's approx 1.2m (I didn't measure it) S of the ditch centre line - I wasted a bit of time searching nearer to the field.

1" bolt in block on S bank of ditch 0.6m W of path, in hedge. Like dal I was taken into field by gps, But his directions spot on

There's a lot more vegetation in summer! Found it thanks to descriptions from dal and RogerTempleman. A diversion from tracing the original route of the Wilts & Berks Canal.

Not much to add to David Lever's location information, except to add the block is on the right hand side of the 'path' through the hedge (going from the swing)

Station T047 in Secondary Block SU59, listed as a block. In hedge between playing fields and access field. To begin my GPS pointed into the field to the S and I had no joy. Then I thought you often find trigs in hedges. I dived in and a couple of yards away saw the corner of a concrete block. I cleared the leaves and found the bolt. I left it as I found it with leaves over the bolt for protection. Access from Masefield Crescent to W of B4017 Drayton Road (former A34 to Newbury - hence I guess the name), south side of Abingdon. Go across the playing fields to the swings in the SW corner. Then 5 yds to SE from SE upright there is a path through the hedge with a shallow ditch in the middle. The block is on the far side just in from the S side of hedge. Computed 1951, Maintained 1972. Not convinced the block is as horizontal as I would expect.
