A lack lustre day of weather was more than compensated for by having joined up with Jon Glew. Arriving at the circular cairn on this fine summit, we quickly found the 4 witness rivets. Jon got out his trusty folding spade and set about the flat stones in the centre of the cairn with gusto. To be honest, I didn’t do a lot, but I did keep a lookout for other marauding surface block hunters. Jon quickly found the cement pad and soon after, the brass rod was revealed. A stunning location and a good find. With Jon Glew.

Pleasant walk up with BigJ from end of public road (room for a few cars). Walked along the track for ~1.7km then up between lochs. OS sketch indicated block was at centre of shelter cairn, where it was duly found 2-3" down beneath flat rocks with a short rod marker. Block re-covered after photographing. All 4 witness rivets easily spotted on surrounding outcrops (forgot to photograph any of them, doh!). Thanks for great company John Whitehead.
