Obtained the OS sketch for this one. It shows the trig in the verge which is now badly eroded. The sketch gives measures to two nearby lampposts, to the fence line, to the road edge and to a rain gulley on the opposite side of the A61. Of these, the lampposts have been relocated from the verge to the path edge so the corresponding measures are no longer possible. The gulley still exists but the road was far too busy to measure across (a squashed squirrel was evidence of the consequences of crossing without taking heed of the traffic). The two remaining measures reduced the search to a line along the verge, 2.79 metres from the fence and 1.27 from the road. The combined distance of 4 metres from fence to road was verified. The main change to the site is the existence of a driveway to the now defunct golf course. This doesn't appear on the sketch and has replaced the fence that was perpendicular to the road and from which the 2.79 measure was taken. Best guess is that the trig was in the verge, just inside the curve of the driveway and very close to the kerb stones. Given that that surface blocks are usually not buried more than 2 or 3 inches then this one may have been lost when the kerb was constructed. Lofthouse is within the 'Rhubarb Triangle'; apparently a tourist attraction.

(2126) Suspect this one is now no longer, but you never know. Either way looks like a lot of changes at the location has occurred.

GPS points to grass verge next to track to golf course. Lots of gravel and evidence of trenching works or possibly lost to the golf course entrance/exit road which has much newer gates that the fence next to the verge.

Used GPS to get right on target, but no Surface Block to be seen. Site is now a golf course, so has probably been removed.
