Previously visited 31 Jan 2015. Today with the OS sketch, https://trigpointing.uk/wiki/File:TP8503_Tilts_Sketch.jpg but equally inconclusive. Access from Tilts bridge to the embankment wasn't possible but other routes are available. The brick-built structure is dated 2005 on the SW face and there is a plaque labelled 'New Tilts Pumping Station' which states the grid reference as SE 5718 0905. The building is located at the back of the flat-topped embankment which may have been widened to accommodate it. The OS Office File includes a sketch, installation and reconnaissance reports. All sketch measurements were to features of the original pump house and the corresponding outfall pipe. These were approx 100ft further E along the embankment from the present structures, but no trace remains. The Station Inspection Report (1964) states "Bolt loosened presumably by vandals. Made secure again by application of concrete" (which implies that it was readily found at that time). Nothing in the Office File gives more recent information than this. The Reconnaissance Report (1949) states "On Top of Firm Bank" - this is the only remaining clue as to the trig location. A satellite view shows the grid ref of the trig on the embankment, to the NW side of the wire fence and on a line between the pumping station and the outlet. The location seems likely to have been disturbed by installation of the pipework below ground and construction of the newer building. Tilts was installed 1949, computed 1950 and levelled 1964. Possible that Tilts Level (GPS station TP8502, computed 1988), approx 460 metres distant, replaced it?

(933) Parked at the passing point and then crossed over the road and walked the embankment to the pumping station. Like others, I suspect this is gone.

On top of embankment near what appears to be a newish pumping station and wide-bore pipe installation. Possibly lost to the installation works of these newer things on site.

GPS puts this one actually in a drainage channel! Checked both banks of channel to the amusement of two anglers but couldn't find it
