Clearly the place is beautiful... On the eye of the beholder.. Deep indented lettering in original cap. Middle of grassy field summit. Permission given to park along track from North. Walk further south till access to open hillside. Still one barbie to vault.

Drove to Hillhead of Ardo and asked for permission to park and visit trig. Owner had been a land surveyor so understood my interest and told me the best way to go with the fewest fences. Took my barbed wire protection anyway and it was useful as you had to cross a wall and a 2 stranded barbed wire fence to get into the trig field.

Open grazing top, fences to negotiate. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre plug with deep stamped lettering. Flush bracket faces north. Back sighting hole open, others plugged. Open skyline in most directions.
