Flagstaff on Motte & Bailey within Carrisbrook Castle, well worth a visit (English Heritage), some great views from here.

Visited here Aug 1993 when kids were younger, clearly remember seeing the flagstaff then (honest!). Flying visit today. No clear shot for a photo from entrance area, but nearby St Mary's church provided a better, if little more distant, view.

SU31 T262 FLAGSTAFF, RIVET and OLD TRIG. Flagstaff prominent of turret. Despite assistance from museum staff the rivet was not found. The old trig is located at SZ 48742 87863 on grass embankment by cannon on north side of bowling green/parade ground. Nothing visible on the ground. Cut pivot BM located on concrete plinth of northerly cannon.
