Whilst working away from home in The West Midlands took a most enjoyable evening circular walk from Pole Cottage via Round Hill, then Grindle, off Callow to Little Stretton then climbing back up Ashes Hollow before bagging Pole Bank just before dark.

A superb surface block. Glorious walk from the road above Church Stretton looping to Pole Cottage and then the long grassy moor. A sharp drop to the wild beauty of Ashes Hollow. The moon changing from orange to white. Walkers replaced by CB enthusists. The exotic shapes of Sugarloaf, Black Mountain, Malvern and Wrekin with the nearer hogbacks of Caer Caradoc, Lawley and Ragleth. Wooded lines of Callow and Wenlock Edge. A truly glorious place and walk.

2" dia mushroom bolt exposed next to the cairn. Good albeit hazy views over Church Stretton, Hazler Hill, Clee Hills with Callow Hill and the Wrekin further off. Main paths busy today but it was quiet here. Thanks to Myrddyn Phillips for reporting this one on RHB.
