Couldn't find direct route due to vegetation up firebreak from SSW, adjacent to mapped track (where small CP, at approx. NJ781909, just up track before locked gate), so up tracks to summit. However, once on top, good path continued south and down firebreak (the MTB trail?). Deteriorated as it descended, especially in bracken belt but passable (up hill would be hard), emerging om road just north of track entrance.

From the car park followed the forest road to the summit, the last stretch badly washed out. No forestry operations and the access gate open at the time of our visit we could probably have driven most of the way.

Car park closed at present due to forestry operations, so parked to one side of the bell mouth. Because of the bracken, couldn’t spot the start of the direct path but found it just to the left of the forestry track. Straight up the fire break which also carries the power line for the masts. Great view point on top although a bit hazy for us. With Nozzer.

Parked in the lay-by in the deliciously named Slug Road. How did that name evolve? Then up the trackway, through the trees to reach the summit. Pillar has an open cap & all four sight-holes also open. Had intended to visit this one several Saturdays ago en route to Cove Rangers, but torrential rain put paid to that plan. Today was beautiful and bright once the mist had cleared. Good to be in Kincardineshire once again.
