Phoned 01863 755338 for information on deer stalking. Luckily none today. Up via Carn Alladale then round horseshoe. Once over point 623m many peat hags although fairly easily negotiated. Worst part is descent from point 552m with more peat hags and tussocky heathery ground. Very slow going. Also 2 deer fences to climb on the way round (saw the nearby gates too late). Grateful we cycled to the start of the hill.

Drove along Glen Alladale to NH 4032 8942 when deep snow drifts prevented further vehicular progress. Continued to end of track on foot then up the mountain. Pillar encased in snow and ice, no flush bracket seen, but it doesn't have one anyway. Top cap missing, no plug. With Carole Engel

Spider intact, cap having indented lettering. Good views, coast to coast plus Cairngorms. Previously visited this Graham 22/06/00, no trig details noted.

vgc, built without FB. Metal cap, deep letters. Fine bare stony summit, fine views. Late pm circuit from Glencalvie road-end, horseshoe taking in Carn Alladale, the NE top and the 557m summit. Accidentally descended to Alladale Lodge! 8pm luckily no-one about, and the Lodge seemed empty.
