Nice MTB ride out from Nairn up the River, thro Cawdor Woods, picked the track running up the side of Riereach Burn and out to the pillar. Excellent sunny day with great visibility. Great descent via track down thro the Cose and back to Nairn mainly off road. Done with Nozzer.

Parked near start of track to Cose. Asked the kind gentleman in the 'Barn' if it was ok to go through the garden / parking area, no problem. Nice walk up through the valley and out on top of the moor. The hill has a flat top so once you spot the mast, head for that and the trig will appear.

Difficult to find parking near to the start of walk which crosses through sheep field. Once past farm at loch of Boathy the climb is gentle and views amazing. Good path, trig is around 300m away over boggy ground. Not visible from path however wooden post can be seen and pillar is just beyond that. Nice walk down past Clune reservoir.

Decided to go for this one today. Took the bike and cycled in from the Boath end. The path leads through someone's property but I met the owner (and his barking dogs!) and he was happy for me to pass through. The path is easy to cycle and you are soon at the the top. I recommend sticking with the path for as long as possible and skirt the edge of the flat top rather than trying to straight line it to the pillar, as the terrain looks boggy. Dumped my bike by a pile of tree trunks and carried on on foot for the final 500 feet or so. Pillar is in great condition and stunning views all around on a clear day like today.

Drove to the reservoir and then walked up the track. Then left the track when I spotted the flagpole and then spotted the trig. Breezy up here today. Dog was freaking out with the wind then ran off with the geocache. Looks like a lovely spot to visit in summer.

Walked up from Clunas Reservoir ignoring the fact my Mum had said she saw a sign saying shooting range, do not enter when the red flag is flying and there was a flag. Shots however sounded as if they were coming from the direction of the A96 and when we got to the top the flag pole did not have a red flag flying. On the way back a Cawdor Estates landy took the flag down and gave my Mum a cheery wave. Trig in good condition.

Log #62. As per Graeme and Peter, I parked in the pit by the entrance. Gate was not locked, and there was no-one about at Cose Byre. I followed their route to the pillar, which is in good condition and offers good views of the Ross-shire hills and towards Nigg and Cromarty. Decided to take Spidym's more direct (but squelchier) route back towards the loch. [ExP-60/MiP-0/BM-2]

Quick yomp across heather clad grouse moor. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces NNE, compass reading 23°.
