Left the B709 at NT281102 and drove up track till level with rusty red hut in Glenkerry below, took a line S up the hill between the felled stuff and the new growth, then followed wall NW. Returned heading due E from TP and dropped down a very rough firebreak / water course and came out on the track directly where we'd parked. Wouldn't like to have gone up that way though. Really extensive views in all directions, notably S to the Lake District. Extra point awarded for the picnic table, in terms of 'how the heck did that get there?' its nearly on a par with the piano found on top of Ben Nevis!

Parking and route as per Borderer, with the exception that the entrance to the firebreak was blocked by a windthrown tree, so headed to the trig slightly more directly through the widely spaced conifers. Kudos to whoever hauled the picnic table up there. Good view.

Followed the forestry track up from Nether Dalgliesh. Near to the highest point in the road took the ramp up through a small quarry which led to a good forest break. Took this to the dry stone wall and followed this to the pillar. Pillar and picnic bench in good condition although both covered in moss. No views due to mist.
