Following the track down to the embankment it is obvious that this is a man made cut through the peat land and cannot be jumped. The embankment flattens out at NC512257 where the stream can be crossed with the help of large stones. The fence line was followed all the way to the trig. The bog isn't to bad on the way up. The area around the trig has a lot of small pools and care is need to navigate these.

Built without FB, metal cap, deep letters; a few shallow cracks. Surrounded by little peaty pools. Fine wild view altho big hills in cloud. From ESE, track marshy in places, then a water channel, too wide to jump, luckily a bridge at 513255, then beeline, boggy in places. Stern test of goretex boots - which they just passed.
