Parked at the hard standing area near the cattle grid at Tinnis Bridge. Followed the quad track which runs up the fence to the first corner, from here a mixture of quad and sheep tracks up past Watch Craigs so i didn't follow the fence line. Once over the brow of the hill at Black edge you can see the fence line and head towards it, from here to the trig. Very wet underfoot, paddling through the water in sections, heavy rain to start and then intermittent till i reached the trig.

2nd in a 3 trig day; walked across from Timmis Hill via the cattlegrid. Bee-line up, wandering fence down.... not sure which is best. Plenty of dampness, tussocks and a few peat-haggs either way. In a sea of cotton grass, bilberry and cloudberry in flower.

Followed the fence line from the cattle grid on the road the south of the trig. Thankfully it has been dry for the last few weeks and the walk condition were good.

Good parking on the county line to S at cattle grid (NY 4258 8721). Started and finished following fenceline, but deviated away where it doesn't follow the county border; unsure if this was wise as ground satutaed and gets rough and haggy around Black Edge - fenceline may have been better. Pillar retains original centre cap, raised lettering, but a lot of top screed missing, all spider arm ends exposed. Front and rear sight holes open, RHD side plug badly degraded. Cloud down, no views.

Flush bracket faces southwest, compass measurement 231°. Vented through back and front sight holes, right side breaking open, innards blocked with debris. 360° open outlook from top.

From the cattle grid it's a 1.5 mile walk to the trig, but it seems like 5 times that distance, even in ideal conditions like today after a 3 month dry spell. The effort is well rewarded with a good view at the trig.
