Turned south from Botley, signposted to church and opposite the Hen and Chickens pub. Missed turning on first pass through Botley as I didn’t see a sign for the village itself. Along narrow country lane as far as the small church, pulled over on roadside. From there along path, past lovely looking farmhouse to east of lane then a mast on the west side of the track. Track forked, kept to right, south, through woods. Lost some height down through the woods which was disconcerting. At fence and field beyond turned south west and continued to lose a little more height, then suddenly and unexpected spotted pillar just to north of path on edge of woods. Seems an unusual location, no views. Spider and cap in place. Pleasant spot.

My last pillar of 2021. Underground to Chesham then a pleasant up and down countryside walk. In the woods by an old chalk pit.

Parked at church and walked footpath south through woods to trig point. Storm " Denis" still trying his best to spoil the day. Very wet and windy.

K Walked up from the church which has a parking area. The hilltop enclosed residences are well kept but walled/fenced away from the public. Past the mast through pleasant squirrel occupied Woodland Trust copse to the trig on a knoll by the bridleway and above a pit which appears to have an active sett/den. Not much of a view due to trees, only across a field to a dirt embankment hiding the clay pit/brickworks. Better view from W edge of Cowcroft Wood

Bagged as YSM339 Cowcroft. Walked up the bridleway then followed wee tracks through the woods to the trig. Loads of bluebells out in the woods. Lovely walk.

Lightly indented cap with only the Southern sight open. Good parking at the Kirk.. if there hadn't been a Charity Bazaar on! - the single track road to the Kirk was a nightmare and I'll bet those woods never wholly dry out! ;-) ..gyro gliders were taking off and landing in the field behind the woods.. a bit scary when you suddenly here a powered engine cutting out overhead (then they glide the last bit).

Parked in St George Carpark and then walked up ROW to trig. Easy to find on side of path just in woodland.

Parked near the church to the north which is down a narrow lane from the main road. Made my way along the footpaths through the woods to this fine spot. Trig and top in good condition.

Passing by on a geocaching mission. Had to negotiate a flooded section of path to get here. Trig is nestled in a narrow woodland swathe. Views not much to speak of, although there is a strange golfball in the distance. Two for the price of one, as this trig is listed as geocache YSM339.

I Parked at the church to North then along through the woods to this one (with hindsight not such a good idea as it was dark on the way back! luckily I had as torch or I would be still in there!) - Pillar is located next to footpath and is in good condition - farmland views.

I drove down the narrow lane to the church and left my car in the church car park. It was a warm and sunny stroll along muddy paths through Cowcroft Woods to the trigpoint. The T/P is in good condition with all it’s metalwork in place. The plug is of the shallow engraved variety. The location is pleasant enough but eastern aspect is the only open one and the view that way isn’t great.

Boxing Day walk on beautiful cold and crisp winters day. Up Kiln Lane from the east and then through woods and on path by field boundary. TP stained green but otherwise in good condition. View to SE, enclosed by woods in other directions

Walked in via the path up to the brickworks then across the field initially missed the direct path so had to cross a boggy field before an easy walk round the wood and back to the car

A brisk sunny walk through Cowcroft Woods over frozen muddy tracks brought me to the trig.Condition is good but with some green staining from the the overhanging trees.Not much view to the NW but open to the SE.
