About a mile north of Partney, along the A16 pulled over on minor road turning off to east and walked back and along the roadside verge. About 200 metres south of the junction in the hedge. Tricky to spot on drive by unless going slowly or winter. Next to road sign. Spider and cap in place. Chipped top probably from hedge cutting machinery, careless. About twenty metres north of the pillar is possibly a boundary marker, has LCC on it.

(185) Parked up down a minor road, as the main road was - once again today - just too busy. Short walk to pillar, thankfully, and all appears well. Pillar history: Built on the 23rd of April 1950, at a cost of £21 4s 8d. Last maintained by the OS in February of 1981.

Set slightly in hedgerow. Best to park in nearby side road and walk to this. No pavement and soft verges. Build up of twigs on top from hedgetrimming which got cleared off.

The hills around hear are great to cycle up, but even better to cycle down. The A16 is almost empty. Trig easy roadside one.

On the way back from Skeggy to see the beached sperm whale, only to find council removed it the previous night. Easy road side trig, no particularly exciting views. Did find it safer to park on the minor road up N from it as suggested.

Gratuitous trig bag on way home from seaside. Roadside trig (but don't stop on the main road - it is too fast and dangerous, crossroads just N links to minor roads providing safer stopping points though the walk isn't much fun) and if it had been summer the only view would be along the road in each direction.

I have passed this location many times over the last 25 yrs and have been meaning to stop and bag it, so today I was on my way back to Bostonia from Alford when I decided to pull over and bag it, well who would have thought that on a cold and blowy December day that pulling over for such a short time would cause so much trouble and chaos??? Not me. After nearly having 2 Artics run into the back of my car,I decided that the old ploy of lifting up the bonnet and pretending to break down whilst bagging the Trig wasn't worth it, also the drivers coming the other way weren't very happy either. Note to self, next time park up on the minor road and walk along to the Trig.

A joint visit with Carole to this nice roadside pillar. We parked on the minor road just to the north and walked down the grass nverge to the pillar. It is in good condition and still has an original plug.
