Perhaps the farmer moved it as it was worrin' his sheep.

This one is not at it’s stated location in the middle of the field. It’s approximately 350 metres east of that location at the roadside in front of a couple of bungalows. It doesn’t look as if it was moved recently, either. That aside, it’s in very good condition with all it’s metalwork in place and no structural damage. It does show evidence of once being painted white, although that was obviously a long time ago. The views are flat and quite uninspiring farmland... Well, this is Norfolk.

This was a surprise. I arrived ready for some fieldwork only to find the trig at the roadside! vgc; metal cap; E verge of rd c.116887 i.e. 350m W of OSLR position; no TP on 25k or Landline. Either it's been shifted (I didn't think so) - or they originally planned to build it in the field but were dissuaded. Dec09: checked OS trig archive: co-ords 612051.063 288827.375 but also states: Moved 400m West by farmer. Neat piece of work - fooled me anyway.
