I too viewed this pillar in the rear garden of the manor house from the adjacent bridleway. It appears to be in good condition despite the move. The FB number was readable by digital zooming on my picture.

Pillar is now in Osmanthorpe Manor, in the orchard behind. Occupier (its rented) readily gave a tour - pillar tilting but otherwise relocated well. CBM on front left corner of house.

Passed by on a circular walk out from Southwell via here, Edingley and Halam (and The Waggon, good ale, iffy service). Residents out - neighbours confirmed the farmer has recently retired and the property is now rented - decided not to annoy the new tenants by trespassing through the their garden, and viewed from bridleway. Looks happy in its new position and in good condition.

The chap who lives at the property was good enough to show me to the pillar. we then discussed their construction and how they were used. Then chatted about levelling. On leaving noticed a cut mark on the house. Another conversation started and I was able to show him the height above mean sea level of the mark.

I'm the shy sort, and it was around teatime, so I didn't want to disturb the householders, so I restricted myself to taking a photo from the adjacent footpath.

First of two trigs walking the Southwell Trail. Parked in Kirklington, found Osmansthorpe Manor, knocked on the back door and the gentleman very helpfully took us to the trig in the back garden. Trig was in good condition though there seemed to be slight lean. Near to to the trig is an unusual way marking post. Wish I had a trig in my back garden. The coordinates on this website are for the new position in this garden.

I did as others have done and asked for permission at the house. The lady who answered the side door readily agreed to my wandering across the garden to get to the pillar. It is actually in excellent condition and still retains an original indented letter plug.

FB is visible from RoW to E, approx 15m back. Well found! and thanks to Ted for the tip-off. Quick detour from the A1 on the way north. Left GPS in the car so still no grid ref.

It has been found! My friend Keith while out geocaching noticed a TP in the garden of Osmanthorpe Manor and told me about it. I visited it today (photos to follow). TP can be seen through the garden hedge from the footpath passing along the property boundary. Over 20 years ago I had locked horns professionally with the owner of the property over the future of a local school of which he was Chair of Governors. I was a tad reluctant to ask permission to visit the TP in his garden, but decided he would probably have forgotten me - which he had! I called at the house (door at the side to rear of building as no answer from front door) and he and dog happily accompanied me to the TP. It is in excellent condition with all bits intact. He had it moved from original position with OS approval as it was in the way of agricultural activities. He said he had one previous visitor - but obviously not someone actively involved in this website. He is happy to show visitors to the TP. Grid Ref derived from Memory Map as no GPS
