2 of 3 with Debi. Easy to find with GPS but it was covered in holly which has gone mad. I cut it all back so the front of the pillar is exposed.

Managed to locate by reference to map, houses to west, bend in road to east. Not surprised that I rode past it. On north side of the road. Covered in a thick coat of holly. Very well protected. Removed loose wet debris on top to see spider and cap in place. Pushed holly back as much as possible. A few runners, dog walkers and cars about , a lot for such a narrow country lane. Picture with telegraph pole gives clue for reference.

Parked on Pouchen End Lane. The pillar can be found almost completely buried in the hedge. As I had completed what I had planned for the day a lot earlier than I had anticipated, this was a bonus bag. Had I planned to visit this pillar in the first place, I would have brought a pair of shears with me to cut back the hedge. The pillar is now so buried in the hedge, that it is impossible to see the spider

First trig of 2012. Cycled the 17 miles on a bright, clear, cold morning and parked the bike in the hedge next to the pillar. It was found without difficulty but I had to clear some brambles, holly and ivy away to get a clear photo of the Flush Bracket. It would need some serious hedge surgery to get a view of the top of the pillar but structurally, it looks sound enough. The hedge on both sides of the road was too high to see over so the only views were up and down the lane.

Lucky to find this as it sits very firmly in the middle of a vary thick ivy strewn holly bush. There was just enough room to see the FB plate. The bushes were thinned just in front of it so I suspect either it is kept that way or it's proximity keeps the bush from completely covering the front over. Looked in good condition as much as I could see of it. Logged at N51 45.568 W000.30.681 <Moved from TP1040 by admin>
