Good parking opposite on verge N side of A166. I was all set to measure out the location when along came a bagger who knew where it was. Thank you Sharen. For those less fortunate I'm sure the OS sketch will lead you to it! Some spadework required to reveal the 1" bolt in conc block very close to the angle of the fence.

(779) Parked up half on the verge down York Road, and then it was a short walk to the location. A depression in the ground let's you know that you are in the right place for the block. Covered over with only a light build up of soil and grass. All good.

This was a fairly easy surface block. I parked in the adjacent side-road and had to clear away the wet leaf litter and mud that was covering it but no real problems. If views of a wide grassy verge on a reasonably busy rural road float your boat then you’ll love this one. I have to admit, they didn’t excite me too much. Not much else to say about it, really.

What a pig this one was, we stopped of to look on the way past, a good look and we gave up, so we drove into the town and fired up the laptop to check out the trig pointing website, and it was down So after a bit of shopping we returned and looked again still no joy. So we decided to give up when the trig pointing site sprung into life just as I pulled onto the main road (I was not using the laptop.) So we turned around and came back, using the photos we quickly located it. I much prefer these as 4'6" white pillars on the top of hills.
