Parked in car park near Dry Street Farm. Walked footpath east towards Hawkesbury Manor to gates into field and country park. The small woodland area with the trigpoint in is very difficult to find a way through, it's a bit easy come back out once you have found the the trig. Good luck.

Parked at the lane to the north of the trig and followed a trail up the hill. Arrow pointed into the bushes and we couldn't see any easy way, so had to just go for it! Round in circles trying to find a way through the jaggies and eventually spotted the trig. Tried to find an easier way out by heading south, but this way wasn't any better. Took longer than expected.

This is a tricky blighter and I guess getting trickier all the time as the prickly bushes grow bigger and pricklier. I parked on the lane to the north of the trig, towards the eastern end near where it meets the road. Walked up the hill and took the path into the field and headed south. I tried to enter the thicket there but it was way too thick so retreated and back to the path, heading SW up to the high point. The best way in I found was near a red topped maker with 18 on top. The undergrowth inside the barbed wire (deer?) compound is less thick. after getting sort of south of the trig I headed into the thicker area and soon found the trig with the help of the GPS.

This one was deep in an area of hawthorn scrub and took a while to locate as each trail seemed to have been deliberately blocked by piles of branches cut from areas of scrub clearance. I did find a way through eventually, though. The T/P is in good condition, apart from the missing centre plug. The hole has been in-filled with what looks like tar-mac. Any views that there might have been are totally obscured by the surrounding bushes.

It's taken me more than two separate visits to this site to find this Trig , due to a very limited amount of time on each occasion. However I only use an O/S map and have no hand held GPS so anyone with the latter will probably find it a lot quicker. Anyway situated on top of a hill in a small nature reserve/country park type area you need to venture deep into the trees and vegetation before you find a small clearing with the Trig sited with no views to anywhere. If all the trees and vegetation were to be cut back I would imagine some decent views over Basildon and the Thames Estuary would be possible and probably in the past that's what the Trig saw but alas no more. The Trig is in reasonable condition but sadly the Spider centre cap is either missing or has been infilled with concrete. On the whole a fairly uninspiring Trig visit.
