Parked at ND 4656 9623, walked from there on a good farm track. Pillar sits amongst some agricultural detritus at the 'summit' of Burray island. An original centre cap is retained, raised lettering; RHS sight hole open. Extensive views over Scapa Flow.

Easy bag on the way to the ferry - parked at end of track for an easy walk up the track. If you want to hug the trig, easiest access to field is via gate in corner.

Only NorthEast sight is open with raised lettered cap. Pillar is in good nick but lotsa debris around its little corner of the field - best access route would be around field edges on horsey track (clocked the hoofprints). Overlooking St Margarets Hope.. very chatty farmer collared me both inward and outbound - he reckoned the Italians were camped around the hilltop during WWII.

Little Wart ..a little cluttered.
