Walked in from SW on farm tracks. Intrigued by the field boundary as I walked up; made of bundles of used tyres to create a strong shelter wall. A good spot to see the Orkneys as they are -- a mishmash of bodies of water and islands.

Only NorthEast sight is open with raised lettered cap. Pillar is in good nick but lotsa debris around its little corner of the field - best access route would be around field edges on horsey track (clocked the hoofprints). Overlooking St Margarets Hope.. very chatty farmer collared me both inward and outbound - he reckoned the Italians were camped around the hilltop during WWII.

Little Wart ..a little cluttered.
