Parking and route as Big J. Surprisingly wide, well kept, grassy access.

Parked at the village hall and wandered up the track into the well manicured forest. Saw two red squirrels before arriving at the trig.

An attractive area this within the fir & heather. The pillar still has its odd ornament atop which is quite something for it is now at least thirteen years since first noted. (And it's wobbly to the touch). Nearby is a cairn with a sculpted stone hawk within; also plenty of bird boxes. This area seems to be lovingly cared for.

Log #166. Extra point for novelty value. The indented cap is intact under the stone balustrade or whatever it is, which was a bit of a surprise. Overall, a very nice spot, with well maintained memorial garden and large cairn nearby. [ExP-138/MiP-3/Rev-2/BM-11/IS-10/Other-2]

Managed to walk up after the bridge and cut across the new trees. Then through the paths to trig. Yup Ornament still on top! Interesting cairn behind with a broken wooden bench.

Ornament still stands proud!

Trig close to an interesting sandstone cairn circled with boulders. Still has the ornate balastrade balancing on top of it!

The trig, note the windmills in the distance behind. The trig, still has the ornate sandstone carving balancing on top of it. An interesting sandstone cairn close by as well.
Cairn with stone circle around it. Strange sandstone cairn with stone circle around it approx 10m dia. One side of the hill has been laid out as a sporting clay pigeon shoot. Warning signs have been put up.

Pillar in good condition. Spider retained deep stamped font OS cap. FB faces east. Occasionally ornamental additions find their way on to trig pillars. Here at Milltown near Thomshill, the trig had gained an ornate ballustrade component. Access OK from Thomshill. Woods chopped down but recently replanted.
