Great excitement for me to locate my first buried Berntsen using the measurements quoted by peregrinus. The lid has come away. Reburied it under the turf.

Located by the entrance to the councils roads depot. Top broken but still present. Took a while to find as the grass was covering it and it was getting dark.

Easy spot being partially exposed in short grass by a utility yard. Bought out Mr Spade to tidy it up and left it fully exposed. The bolt is loose and slightly raised, not allowing the lid to seat correctly; replaced it, but it's not flush with the housing.

Paced out from measurement in previous log, had a quick poke with my walking pole and I was very surprised to be spot on! Just need to clear of the top layer of grass and soil. 5.3m from gatepost, 5.8m from fence corner

My first ever Berntsen. Took a bit of finding even with the aid of the diagram downloaded from the Passive station Database. Yet I was scarcely a couple of metres out. Not easy thing to find. I attracted an audience looking for this thing, then photographing it. Three young boys away to look up GPS Passive Stations on the net.
