The missing coping stones along the wall have been replaced, but with obviously different stones to the rest of the wall, however the biggest clue to finding this one was the bare patch of soil in front of the wall. It still took a little excavating to uncover it but that's me now completed all the Berntsen's in Northumberland...2!

Roadside verge, missing cap stones were the key to an easy find. In case they get replaced, measured it at 1.2m from wall and 6.9m S from nearest gatepost. Left it uncovered.

Another fairly easy one to find if you study the photos although vegetation growth will readily hide it if its not kept back. Its immediately in front the part of the wall where the top stones are missing. Passable arable view to the west.

Needed to dig down about 4 inches to get to this one. It is next to a very large rock that we dug up first when prodding for it. Have drawn up a new sketch that i will post later. In the meantime it is 1.20m from the gap in the wall, 7.15m from the signpost and 7.05m from the gatepost to the North.

With the link to the OS site down we were left with just clues in the previous logs, Teasel's photo, a tape measure and an umbrella! It had become buried again in the past two years but after ten minutes prodding with an unbrella we found it!

This has been uncovered fairly recently, as picture shows. Used to live about 400 yards from here, but as I was only little didn't realise this was here.

Small world! It was us who visited this trigpoint just a few days before Walker Dan. We actually visited it twice... We quickly gave up on the first visit and drove to the nearest garden centre to buy a 7.5m tape measure. With the aid of the OS sketch map, we found the approximate location, then by systematically digging the point of my walking stick into the turf, managed to locate something metal beneath the grass. Digging down an inch or two uncovered a slightly larger than usual Berntsen. We'd never have found it without the tape measure!

Found it on the 2nd atempt after buying a tape maesure and digging up the turf! Proud of this one. Are all FBM Aux 1's so difficult to find?
